 Benazir Kafalat programm (BISP) was initaited in 2008. The main objective of the programm was to provide a minimum income support package to the chronically poor and those who are more likely to be affected negatively by future economic shocks and those are belongs to very backword areas and labour catergory.

In the begning the programm provided  monthly payments of Rs. 2,000 monthly. Later on the stipend amount was increased from 12000/- to 14000/- paid every six months.  The Beneficiries of the BISP programm was 8 million before 2023.

The BISP Board approved record Rs. 471 billion budget for FY-2023-24 which included Rs. 361.5 billion for Benazir Kafaalat Programme, covering 9.3 million families.

The board was also apprised of the performance of last one year, whereby, the number of Benazir Kafaalat beneficiaries was increased from 7.6 to 9 million along with increase in cash stipend from Rs 7000 to Rs 8750 per quarter (every three months) per family.

How to check eligibility Status

• CNIC can be checked on 8171 portal to check the eligibility status of an individual.
  Process of receiving cash stipend of Benazir Kafaalat
• In case female is eligible and declared as beneficiary she will receive an SMS from 8171.
• On receipt of SMS the beneficiary will be required to visit nearest HBL / BAFL POS / retailerin her tehsil along with her original CNIC to receive the first installment through biometric verification.
• Next installments may also be received from ATM besides POS/ retailer.No Record of Provided CNIC
• In case there is no record on 8171 portal, any adult member of the household may visit nearest Benazir registration desk, established at BISP Tehsil Office, for household survey.
• General public and BISP beneficiaries can register their complaints on BISP hotline number 0800-26477. It works from 9am to 11pm.

How to enter in BISP Kafaalat Programme?

1.  A household falls within approved cut off will be declared as “Eligible”.
2.  Only an ever married female with valid CNIC and cleared from profiling in an eligible household will be declared as beneficiary.
3.  Message/SMS will sent to eligible beneficiary on provided mobile number from 8171.
4. After receiving SMS,Beneficiary will visit nearest POS in her Tehsil / District and receive her first cash grant after biometric verification.
5.  For grievance Redressal she will register her complaint in the respective BISP
   Tehsil office.
